There is no question that Jesus existed. There’s more proof of his existence than of many that are written up in history books.
No, the question is, was Jesus born into history at just any time, any place to any parents. Did he walk this earth and die for no purpose? And as to the timing of his life and death, is there a reason?
The book of Daniel is an amazing book, prophesying many things. It was written by a Hebrew, Daniel, while the Hebrews were in exile, taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. Daniel never forgot the Lord God, praying 3 times a day toward the direction the holy city of Jerusalem. God miraculously saved Daniel and gifted him in dream interpretation and sent angels to give Daniel details of the future. And the details were so accurate concerning the Greek invasion of Israel and Antiocchus Epiphanes IV’s terrible, evil persecution of the Hebrews that many said the book had to be written after those events. Otherwise the description of the events could never have been so accurate. But Daniel was written 532 to 530 B.C. when Daniel was around 90 years old. Ezekiel, a contemporary prophet of Daniel’s time gives evidence of him.
The terribly interesting and amazing thing is the timing of the birth and the death of Jesus. Daniel predicted Messiah’s birth and death over 500 years before it happened. And predicted to the very day, his death.
““Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.”
(Daniel 9:25–26 NIV)
“On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
(Revelation 19:16 NIV)
