Twas a rough year for us.
Hospitalization twice. Once in the spring for supraventricular tacchycardia, malignant. And again in December for a stroke. Both times: healed!
Today she was 93! And she’s doing more, walking farther, and her attitude is great!
I’ll let you in on her secret. After this last hospitalization, she had two visitations. The first was the night after she came home from the hospital after her stroke. She thought it was me coming in to check on her. Someone pulled her cover up and when she turned her head to look, the person said, “It’s ok. Go back to sleep.” She felt such comfort and went back to sleep.
(I was so alarmed when she told me the next morning that I checked every door and window in the house. But there was no way anyone got in the house and out again the way the windows and doors were locked.)
The second time was last week. She developed a bad productive cough. She had a very bad coughing spell in the middle of the night and couldn’t stop. She saw people all around her bed. As she looked at them they said, “Look! Here he comes! It’s Jesus!”
And she saw Jesus riding down and into her room on a cloud. He took her hand. She said, “He told me to take very, very deep breaths, just like you did. I did and the coughing stopped.” She said he then sat down and stayed with her while she went back to sleep.
God does watch over his children. I’ll try not to worry so much about her.
I had a party for her tonight. 20 people, mostly our family and a few friends. She opened gifts, read cards, ate sloppy joes and coleslaw. She pulled the 9 and 3 candles out of the cake and turned them around to make 39. Then she made a wish and blew them both out.
She cried and thank everyone for their love.
Thank you, Father. ♥
So very, very much.
I think heaven is much closer than any of us realize.
