  2. Our pastor preached on this from John 15 last week.If the world hates you, you’re doing something right. Evangelicals certainly feel marginalized these days and history shows that marginalization is often a prelude to persecution.

      The church got soft, didn’t it? I think there are lots of apostates who will fall away. It’s time for getting even closer to God and letting the Holy Spirit work through us and in us. I think we’re entering a tough period.

      • We have a Chinese congregation at our church — mostly post-graduate research students from the University of Alaska. They tell me that the Chinese evangelical churches, both in China and in the United States, have been praying for the United States for a long time, but we might not like how they pray because they’ve been praying that our churches will face persecution so that our faith will be strengthened.

        I think we’re entering a tough period too.
