Faith makes you healthy!

I read an article from the NYT! Who knew!! I just don’t read the paper. But this article was pretty good. It was titled: ‘The Benefits of Church’. It expounds on the health benefits of attending church but it’s really more about Christian faith and how it benefits our health both mental and physical. The article can be found here:

It’s no secret that this is true. (Sounds like a song!)

There have been studies that have shown this as a fact. People who are part of a local body are healthier, have lower blood pressure, they’re happier, and basically live 2-3 years longer than those who do not.

Would it be any other way? When Jesus tells us to obey his commands, it sure wouldn’t lead to disease! which is our normal state of health. It’s been shown that when we help others physically by providing food, clothing, money, shelter directly to those in need, our immune system gets a boost! Just like when we have a big belly laugh our immune system gets a boost!

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

(Proverbs 17:22 NIV)

Well, read the article. You’ll be glad you did.

*Now about that song…
I chose the vid with George Bev Shea singing. Honoring him in his graduation to heaven.
