Our Grandson and Our Daughter

Justin shot an 8 pt buck on Monday. Our daughter was out with him.

Year before last, on his first day of hunting…EVER…Justin shot another 8 pt buck within 30 minutes of being in the field. He was 14 that year.

Justin’s daddy died when Justin was just 2. A great Christian man started to take him out to hunt with him and has been very good to Justin.

This year he posted these pics and the description of the events on Monday here:

Thanks, JTR. We’re very proud of this young man.
Did I say 2 years ago he went deer hunting for the first time and within 30 minutes I got an SMS message on my phone with a picture of an 8 point buck he had shot.

Read the article and comments, tannngl. I would hazard a guess that your heart swells with pride (the good kind, not the bad kind).

Your daughter and grandson are role models.

Thanx so very much for sharing this uplifting adventure with us all.

Thanks so much for reading! They’ve all had a real rough time of it since Rich died. 2 of the kids were still in diapers and the oldest was 5. We helped raise them. Daughter had found her Savior 4 years earlier and looking back I can see the Lord all over their lives.
Justin is 15 which can be a difficult age for kids and parents. He does make us all very proud. Loves dirt bikes, hunting, electronic games and math club. hehehe

And what a great job you and your husband person did, tannngl. This just keeps getting better!! And you know, sometimes in the midst of things we don’t really have the time to see how the Lord works. What a marvelous quality He gave us … the ability to look back and see!!

Aw, thanks, Mrs. AL. But it wasn’t by our own strength. It took a lot of energy and wisdom that we didn’t have and you know where that came from. Daughter remarried just 4 years ago to a terrific guy who loves her children and her. They’re all pretty happy now and I’m so glad to see it.
When Justin’s daddy died, he was always trying to figure ways to go talk to him. He wanted someone to take a cell phone to him so he could call him. And Justin was only 3. That child missed his daddy as much as his older sister and he was only a baby.
Yes, looking back God gave in abundance. Our churches were there for her too. A lot.
